Runners battle through deep sand, rocky terrain, mountain passes and untouched veld, following sections of the historic Perdevoetpad used during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899. Every step tells a story. Every kilometre challenges the body. Every finisher earns their place.
Where history, heritage and human endurance collide
The route passes ancient Bushman rock-art and heritage sites, tracing land the San walked long before the first road crossed this valley. On Heritage Day, you run where they roamed, through the raw beauty of the Sandveld and the story it still remembers.
